Camille was born in the old Queen of Angels Hospital in Echo Park, and grew up in Los Angeles. Her dad and uncle were artists by trade so she always had free lessons and has been making art since she was a kid. She graduated from Otis/Parsons School of Art and Design with a BFA in Fine Arts, when the school was next to MacArthur Park, and has been part of the L.A. art community since the early 1980s. She is also an animation artist and works for studios like Disney, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon. Her most recent job was on Looney Tunes at Warner Brothers.
Influenced by the Expressionists and old masters, she learned to draw and paint large in scale, bold and gestural, but also makes small things like ceramic jewelry.
Camille’s oddball yet elegant ceramic jewelry is handmade in Los Angeles. Each piece is formed out of clay, kiln-fired and hand painted. Antique brass finished hardware gives it an aged 1930s look. Some pieces include vintage or new beads in a variety of materials such as natural stone, Czech glass, Bakelite or colorful plastics. Camille’s Far Out ceramic jewelry is for the customer who is willing to pay a little more for a wearable art object that is individual and stylish in design, skillfully crafted by hand, and limited in number.
We also offer a selection of adorable jewelry items that are more economical, plus T-shirts, greeting cards, art prints, ceramic clay ornaments, and ceramic clay room and wall decor.
Art prints and greeting cards of Camille’s singular paintings and splendiferous graphics are printed in Los Angeles on acid free Forest Friendly paper and the cards come with recycled envelopes.

A Note From Camille
Hi! I just wanted to tell you briefly about how I got into making ceramic jewelry. I learned ceramics in art school, then a friend showed me how to make a mold so I could make more than one of each design. My first designs were cute, cranky animals and insects like ladybugs and sheep, and food items like donuts and hotdogs. I still love to create super-cute, cheerful, fun imagery, but I want my jewelry to be grown up and elegant, and well made from good quality materials like ceramic kiln-fired clay. I love plastic and acrylic beads too, and the combination of old and new. I appreciate the history of old things and want my jewelry to have an aged look, so I chose antiqued brass for my metal finish.
Thank you for your interest in my artwork and I hope you enjoy it!
